Sometimes it isn’t possible to prepare your meals for either breakfast, lunch or even dinner. And that is perfectly fine; sometime there just isn’t the time. Leon, is one of the places I consider to be great for their wide range of meals and snacks; as well as a win on flavour. This post will highlight the top meals I love at Leon, and those recommended by the bosses!
Leon was founded and opened their first store in Carnaby Street in 2004. The vision statement of Leon is to provide ‘Naturally Fast Food’. It can be seen as the Mc Donald’s of the health food – obviously with less calories and more flavour. What is great about Leon, they cater to all dietary requirements. From gluten free to vegan; Leon will have a meal that tickles your fancy. On top of that, their website provides an accurate nutritional analysis so whether you would like something aq bit more cheeky or under 500 calories – you can find anything!
The Korean Chicken Burger
“Chargrilled Chicken Thigh with Gochujang Chilli Mayo Slaw. Seoul Food”
This hearty burger goes perfectly with a light pea salad for lunch.
The chilli mayo slaw added a lovely flavour to the burger – which was not too spicy.
Perfect for: a filling lunch, cheat meal
Crushed Pea Salad
“Dressed minted peas topped with toasted seeds and a wedge of lemon”
I found the pea salad to be light and fragrant. It’s packed with healthy fats and protein – so you cannot wrong!
Perfect for: an on-the-go snack or side dish
Original Super Salad
“Invented by Leon and the inspiration for others. Broccoli, peas, cucumber, avocado, quinoa, Mediterranean style white cheese, fresh mint and parsley, toasted seeds and a pot of vinaigrette. Food of the future.”
A fresh tasting salad with crunchy broccoli and fresh herbs. High fats, with low carb content?! A dream!
Perfect for: vegetarians, those looking for a chance in meals & cheese lovers!
Hummus & Flatbread
“Chickpea dip with tahini, lemon juice and garlic. Hummus where the heart is.”
Flatbread – 254kcal
Anyone that knows me, I am in LOVE with Leon’s hummus. I order it nearly every single time I go there. It’s probably the best hummus I’ve had as I find a lot of the hummus’ out there do not have that garlicky taste or have enough olive oil. I do not eat bread, but this flatbread is everything. Light and tasty I promise you it is worth every penny and calorie!
Thai Green Chicken Curry Hot Box
“Slow cooked shredded chicken thigh, roasted aubergine and bamboo shoots, with lemon grass, lime leaves & green chilli.”
For a filling, healthy take on Thai; this is the perfect dish and one of my favourites! Again, this wins on flavour as I’ve tasted so many green curries and some restaurants have not matched Leon’s standard. The fresh herbs bring the dish to life.
Perfect for: Thai lovers & foodies in general.
“Proof that you can have your cake and eat it, a low GL pleasure made with dark chocolate (70% cocoa), coffee, almonds and orange zest”
The description says it all, this moreish, rich brownie is like no other! Sweet for a dark chocolate product but great nonetheless.
Perfect for: Sweet treats, cheat day
Above: Peach, Lemon & White Tea Juicy Water, Fresh Lemonade & Goji Berry & Passion Fruit Juicy Water.
All great alternatives to just water and are low in calories and taste amazing! The lemonade in particular tickled my fancy as sometimes you want a fizzy drink; but this hits the spot all the same with half the calories!
Hope this post has shown you Leon in all its glory, go down and try some of these great dishes. Or if you’ve already tried Leon, what is your favourite meal (s)? Comment below 🙂 x
